Egg handling
Egg handling is all about how you handle the precious egg; from the moment it is laid in the nest, its way to the egg collection room to how you pack the egg. It all has to be done with the greatest care.
Handle your chicken's product with care and reduce your workload.
Small details can have a big impact on the hatching performance. Tools to collect the eggs while maintaining their perfect condition and offering maximum comfort to the birds is the perfect combination that is needed.

The perfect combination: careful egg handling, high transport capacities and fitting in every egg room. It's possible to further automate the egg collection process and connect multiple poultry houses. Smart plastic design of carriers and smooth connections of the belt ensure a safe and efficient egg flow.
Accurate grading of hatching based on weight? It's possible! As an operator, you can easily create up to four classes of eggs and optimize the setters for maximum efficiency. Quality inspection even becomes an easy task due to rollers facilitating egg movement through the handling system.
'Even with the best will in the world, packing by hand we couldn’t obtain the same result as the packer can'
Egg producer
A fully automated egg handling system delivers faster and consistent quality output from transport tray to setter tray. Optimal effectiveness, high hatchability rates and efficient in-ovo vaccination can be achieved by accurate point down setting.
Objective and consistent grading and sorting of eggs is the key - this can be done by a fully automated process which reduces dependency on labour at the same time. Based on pre-defined indicators, each egg will be automatically directed to the set exit points. Scanned from multiple angles to record external characteristics, eggs will move through the automated grading.
The ones who can tell best how the egg handling systems work, are the farmers who work with it on a daily basis.
Since last year, Koen and Annelies' poultry farm has also had the Meggsius Select, which automatically selects second choice eggs by taking 8 individual images of each egg. Moreover, these images, combined with the other insights generated from Meggsius Count & Control, provide even more valuable data.
'If we see in the data that fewer eggs are being laid in a certain part of the house, we investigate what we can do about it, such as adjusting the ventilation. Thanks to the data, we have better insight into this. We quickly see what we can improve'
